Our customer is a renowned digital media company, with over 1 million readers monthly drop by the website. The company focuses on optimizing and growing trusted digital media brands within five key categories: Automotive, Home, Military & Defense, Science &Tech, and Outdoors.
The Challenge
Despite the massive traffic they witnessed on website and other social media channels, at the moment they came to us, they did not tap into any dynamic reports to identify their top-performing content, and gather valuable insights for business operations. It’s like they have this vast treasure trove of data, but they’re unintentionally letting it go to waste.
The story doesn’t end here when the issue becomes more complex as most of their data is scattered, generated, and manually stored on personal computers in formats like .csv and .xls. Some is even tucked away in various online sources (data silos).
The client also faces a roadblock in lacking the necesary tools and skills to build the data flow, to track a large amount of data from users’ activities.

The Solutions
We worked closely with them to design and build the data flow, which could handle a large amount of data in real time, then suggest the simliar piece of content for further reading.
- In greater detail, the data flow is constructed on the cloud, and designed to monitor every customer interaction on the webiste.
- The model then can identify patterns and similiarities among users, categorize them into groups with comparable tastes and preferences, and subsequently recommend additional content that might pique their interests.

The enhancement in user engagement achieved are massive:
- The time spent on the website has increased by over 167%, from 15 minutes to 25 minutes.
