Loyalty system

How we unified 2,000+ loyalty programs into one blockchain ecosystem

blockchain loyalty system

Our client is a large corporation managing over 2000 companies across diverse industries, from finance and banking to aviation and retail. Because of the vast network, their loyalty programs remained completely fragmented.

They required a solution to consolidate loyalty data across its vast business network. They sought a scalable blockchain architecture that could handle high transaction volumes while maintaining privacy and security.

We were engaged to design, develop, and implement this private blockchain infrastructure to standardize loyalty operations.

What stood in our way

When we began our deep dive into the existing infrastructure, we identified three core obstacles that prevented our client from achieving a truly integrated loyalty network.

  • System fragmentation: With over 2,000 business units operating on isolated databases, loyalty programs were trapped in silos. This prevented a seamless, group-wide customer experience.
  • operational complexity: Reconciling rewards across such a vast network was a manual, error-prone process. The lack of a single source of truth created significant administrative friction and stalled operational efficiency.
  • Security & transparency: The client required a system where every transaction was indisputably verifiable. Without an immutable, decentralized ledger, they had no way to effectively prevent fraud or guarantee data integrity across their entire sprawling ecosystem.

How we solved the problems

To overcome these hurdles, we knew that standard, isolated databases would not work, so we decided to move away from fragmented systems and build a decentralized foundation using blockchain technology

Our strategy centered on using the Near Protocol to create a private blockchain. This was a strategic choice: it gave our client the high speed and security of a blockchain network, but with the total privacy and control required for a massive conglomerate. By using the Rust language for our smart contracts, we ensured that every single loyalty transaction was recorded securely and could never be tampered with.

To bring this vision to life, we built an entire ecosystem to connect the network:

  • Interoperability protocols: We built a “bridge” that allowed this new blockchain to talk to the existing systems at all 2,000+ companies. This was vital because it meant the client’s business could keep running without any downtime or disruption.
  • NodeJS & reactJS: We used these to create simple, user-friendly platforms. Customers get a smooth experience when managing their rewards, and administrators get powerful tools to control liquidity and operations.
  • Grafana: The biggest pain point for management was visibility. We integrated Grafana to solve this. It turns complex data into a clear, visual dashboard. Now, leadership can see exactly how rewards are moving across the entire group in real-time, giving them full control.

The business outcomes

The results went far beyond our initial goals. With the old, disconnected systems now replaced by our new blockchain architecture, we created a truly unified ecosystem. Customers can now earn and spend rewards seamlessly across all 2,000+ business units without any friction.

Operationally, the change was massive. With every transaction now recorded on a secure, transparent blockchain, the days of manual, error-prone record-keeping are over. The system is now faster, safer, and completely automated.

This transformation redefined the client’s relationship with their customers. A complex network became a simple, connected experience, and in the process, we helped the client set a new benchmark for loyalty programs.

If you want to build a transparent, enterprise-scale blockchain loyalty platform, we can help.
