Our client manages one of the most iconic nature destinations in Singapore. Operating at a scale of millions of annual visitors, they saw a gap in how visitors interacted with their parks digitally.
They came to us with a massive challenge: move away from fragmented, legacy systems and build a unified digital ecosystem that could handle multi-park operations while keeping the visitor journey seamless and premium.
This wasn’t a small project, so we committed to a long-term partnership. Within 2 years, our team of 7 engineered a cloud-native infrastructure that consolidated isolated park operations into a single, high-performance platform. The result was a stabilized booking engine capable of handling massive traffic spikes and a 100% independent marketing workflow.
What stood in our way
When we dug into the project, we realized that managing multiple parks on outdated systems was the root of it all:
1. High-volume fragmentation: Each park ran on its own separate ticketing systems. During peak seasons like school holidays, the legacy infrastructure struggled to handle the surge in users, leading to system lag and potential revenue loss.
2. The logic gap: Our client required sophisticated management for cross-park ticket bundles and memberships. In the old system, these configurations were manual, slow, and prone to error, meaning the business couldn’t react quickly to market trends.
3. Critical uptime demands: As a revenue-critical system for a national attraction, there was no room for error. We had to ensure 100% transaction stability across all channels while migrating the entire system without ever stopping daily park operations.
How we made it work
To bring the vision of a unified digital ecosystem to life, we adopted an enterprise modernization approach. We patched the old system and rebuilding a new one from ground up to ensure it could grow with their ambition.
First, we built a Unified Booking Engine. This consolidated platform handles multi-park ticketing, bundling, and add-ons in a single, frictionless transaction flow for the user.
Alongside that, we developed a Dynamic Rule Engine. This is a flexible backend module that handed power back to the business team. Now, they can configure complex seasonal promotions and membership rules instantly through a dashboard, zero coding required.
To ensure performance, we launched a Cross-Platform App using React Native. This ensures consistent experience and lightning-fast check-ins for visitors on-site, regardless of their device.
The whole system runs on a Cloud-Native Architecture (AWS). Using EKS and Lambda, we built a system with “auto-elasticity.” It expands instantly to handle holiday spikes and scales down when traffic is low, ensuring the platform is always fast but never wasteful.
The wins that made it all worth it
Two years into the journey, we have delivered a robust digital backbone that has transformed how the destination operates.
- Operational agility: The Marketing team is now 100% independent. They launch campaigns and configure promotions in hours, significantly shortening their time-to-market.
- System stability: We achieved superior uptime and drastically reduced defect leakage. The system now handles high-traffic events with zero “bottleneck” anxiety.
- Optimized UX: Our simplified booking journey resulted in higher transaction success rates and much faster physical entry at the park gates.
Our next step
Building on this foundation, we are now focused on advanced revenue optimization for our client.
We are working on a Dynamic Pricing Engine to implement demand-driven pricing, AI-Driven Personalization for behavior-based cross-selling, and Smart Crowd Control using heatmaps to optimize visitor flow across the reserve.
If you are looking for a partner to turn complex operational challenges into scalable digital realities, we are ready to start the journey with you.
